Seminole County was created in 1913 from the northern part of Orange County by the Florida legislature. The largest city in the county and the county seat is Sanford. Seminole County is located conveniently off Interstate 4 and is close to Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike. There are three international airports in the area. The Orlando Sanford International Airport offers all the amenities of a larger facility without the crowds. Orlando International Airport and Daytona International Airport are also close by. Excellent highway systems facilitate travel in Seminole County. Recreational opportunities in the area are unparalleled.
